🌟Welcome to the Team, Andrea Salo, PTA🌟

We’re thrilled to welcome Andrea Salo, Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant, to the Dorset Physio family!

Andrea brings with her a wealth of experience, a strong foundation in exercise science, and a genuine passion for helping people move better and live healthier lives. With a B.S. in Exercise and Sport Science and an Associate’s Degree in Physical Therapy Assisting, she’s been nationally licensed since 2017 and has made a lasting impact in both clinical and educational settings.

Her journey has taken her from skilled nursing facility and outpatient clinics to local schools, where she’s supported students of all ages with mobility and development. She’s also been a dedicated educator, teaching physical education and promoting active, healthy lifestyles in our community.

Andrea joined us in August 2025, and her holistic approach, clinical expertise, and warm, energetic spirit have already made her an incredible asset to our team.

Outside the clinic, Andrea is a proud mom of three, a youth sports coach, a nature enthusiast, and a creative soul who loves gardening and crafting.

We are excited to announce Dr. Kelly Gaiotti has been accepted to the 2025 Operation Walk Pittsburgh's volunteer travel team! 🩼

As a physical therapist, she will provide post-operative care to patients who have undergone total joint replacement surgery by Walk Pittsburgh’s team of surgeons. She will travel to Antigua, Guatemala 🇬🇹 from September 27 to October 4, with the goal of providing care to over 65 patients for a total of 80 surgeries at no cost to them. May is Ehlers-Danlos Syndromes (EDS) Awareness Month—But what is EDS?

The Ehlers-Danlos syndromes (EDS) are a group of 13 heritable connective tissue disorders. The conditions are caused by genetic changes that affect connective tissue.

Each type of EDS has its own set of features with distinct diagnostic criteria. Some features are seen across all types of EDS, including joint hypermobility, skin hyperextensibility, and tissue fragility. Other symptoms are only observed in specific types of EDS.

Even within the same type of EDS, people can experience very different symptoms from each other.

Starting next week as we move into the summer season, we’re adjusting our hours to better reflect our commitment to work-life balance—both for our patients and our team.

This schedule will remain in place through the summer and may continue into the fall depending on patient needs.
