Fun Fact!

As you get older, medicines, illness and allergies all could change your sense of smell and taste. These changes can affect your diet and health. If you find things need to taste better or different, try some olive oil, and herbs like rosemary and thyme, or garlic, peppers or mustard. Be sure that you don’t over-salt your food.

The CDC reported in 2016 that in a given year about 25 percent of Americans age 65+ fall down, and that falling is the leading cause of senior injury.

Ways to help prevent falling include:

-Keeping eyewear prescriptions up-to-date
-Exercising for balance
-Keeping floors clutter-free
-Wearing shoes that fit snugly to the foot
-Training pets to avoid jumping
-Using canes or walkers for assistance
