They will spend the next two years of their medical education at one of our many core sites in Alabama, Florida or Mississippi. The Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine was proud to host the 2026 Wiregrass District Science Fair, welcoming more than 100 impressive projects from talented students across our local schools. From creativity to critical thinking, this year’s fair highlighted the curiosity and dedication that drive the next generation of innovators.

We are incredibly proud of every student who participated and grateful for the teachers who guided them along the way. A special thank you to the ACOM faculty, staff, and students who volunteered their time, and to Christina Kennedy, PhD, Associate Professor of Physiology and Director of Community Partnerships, for serving as event chair. Events like this are only possible through the collective effort of so many committed individuals, and we are thankful for each one.

Faculty, staff, and students packed the first-floor hallway today as pots simmered, spices sizzled, and our campus chili masters battled for the crown.
