🪪 UnitedHealthcare Contract Status 🪪
We want to provide a transparent update regarding our contract discussions with UnitedHealthcare.
UnitedHealthcare presented an initial reimbursement proposal within the last two weeks; however, the rates offered were significantly below sustainable levels for an independent specialty practice. We have requested revisions and are still awaiting their response. If appropriate adjustments are not made, it is likely Elite NeuroSpine & Vascular Institute will not be able to participate with UnitedHealthcare at this time.
⚖️ Why This Matters
We want our patients to clearly understand what this decision is and what it is not.
This is not choosing money over patient care.
This is ensuring we can continue to provide patient care at all.
Unlike large hospital systems, private speciality practices do not receive supplemental facility fees, technical reimbursements, or hospital support structures. Private practice survival depends entirely on insurance reimbursement being sufficient to cover:
*interventional technology
*highly trained clinical staff
*surgical and procedural safety standards
*compliance, malpractice coverage, and 24/7 patient coordination - and much more
When reimbursement is far below the cost of delivering safe speciality care, the result is not simply reduced revenue - it becomes clinically unsafe and operationally unsustainable.
🩺 Our Commitment to Patients
We know insurance discussions can feel frustrating and personal. They directly affect your access and continuity of care - which is exactly why we are advocating so strongly.
Our commitment remains:
✔️ Providing specialized cerebrovascular and spine care at the highest standard
✔️ Ensuring timely access, not compromised by under-resourced reimbursement models
✔️ Maintaining a practice that can safely exist, operate, staff, and serve you long-term
We will never compromise patient care to meet an insurance company's cost-cutting model.
We simply cannot accept a contract that would force ENVI - or any specialty practice - to function below safe and sustainable levels.
➡️ What's Next
We are waiting for UnitedHealthcare's response and will update you as soon as there is final clarification.
Thank you for your understanding, trust, and patience.
Our stance is rooted not in finances over care - but care that must be supported in order to exist.
