Did you know most “soaps” on store shelves aren’t actually soap?

Brands like Dove and Dial are classified as syndet bars — short for synthetic detergent. That means instead of being made from natural oils and lye, they’re filled with chemical surfactants, synthetic fragrances, and preservatives. While they get you “clean,” they can also:
