🌟We celebrated our staff today with breakfast and awards.

We recognized several schools who had consistently high breakfast and/or lunch participation, as well as those who had an increase in their participation numbers.

We acknowledged our GSNA 8th district winners for manager and employee of the year (Amanda Roberson and Janet Harrell), and the 8th District Malcolm Quillen Nutrition Hero Award (Patricia Vickers). We also recognized Rhonda Harper with perfect attendance for the year.

We’ve had a great year, and hopefully our employees will have some time to rest and recharge over the summer.

George Washington Carver Freshman Campus asked for input from students to come up with a signature iced coffee flavor next year, choosing between white chocolate or toasted marshmallow. The results were white chocolate!

Students are able to get a free iced coffee with breakfast - made with El Camino Coffee, which is roasted here in Douglas! Several syrup flavors are available, but white chocolate and toasted marshmallow are new additions.

We spiced up our serving lines today with Pizza Rancheros - it's like having two favorites (tacos & pizza) combined! Served with Salsa, Fiesta Corn, Crunch Combination Salad, Fresh Fruit Salad, and choice of milk. A zesty, celebratory lunch!

👾May the Fourth be with you...we're celebrating !

On the menu today: Jedi corn dog lightsabers (or Wookie burgers), Baby Yoda broccoli trees, Tasty Tots, Outer Rim oranges, Dark Side fruit punch, and choice of milk.

Skipping lunch creates a disturbance in the Force. 🌑

We appreciate our teams at every school, who work so hard to feed our Coffee County Schools GA students! It takes a lot of planning and preparation to serve over 10,000 meals each day! Please let your school café staff know how much you appreciate them today!

Today's tray is from West Green Elementary School, and it comes with a sweet note of appreciation to the staff! 💚

Today's lunch was buffalo chicken wings, baked beans, fresh celery with ranch, a honey roll, SideKicks Italian ice, and choice of milk. It's so heartwarming to see notes like these - our teams work so hard to make sure students are offered a nutritious breakfast and lunch each day.

Tomorrow (May 1) is School Lunch Hero Day! 🌟Find your nutrition staff and let them know how much you appreciate them!
