Parents help children fight flu
Each year, flu places a large burden on the health and well-being of children and their families. Annual flu vaccination offers the best protection against flu and its potentially serious complications in children.

Children younger than 5 years old—especially those younger than 2—and children of any age with certain chronic health conditions, like asthma and diabetes, are at higher risk of developing potentially serious flu complications. Because these groups of children are at higher risk, it is especially important that they get a seasonal flu vaccine to help prevent flu, and to reduce their risk of being hospitalized or dying from flu if they do get sick.

Healthy children 5 years and older can also get very sick from flu, in addition to spreading flu to vulnerable family members like infants younger than 6 months and adults who are 65 years and older or people of any age who have certain chronic health conditions. It's important to vaccinate everyone 6 months and older against flu each year to help protect those most at risk.

Wellstar Pediatrics in Douglasville Joins Wellstar Pediatric Triage Pool

Wellstar Pediatrics in Douglasville will be joining the Wellstar Pediatric Triage Pool on June 25, 2025. This new initiative entails that all incoming calls from our patients and their parents requesting Home Care Advice will be directed to a dedicated team of registered nurses. These professionals are thoroughly trained to provide the most effective advice for the home care of your child.
The majority of these calls will be answered live, ensuring that you receive prompt and expert guidance on how to best care for your child at home.

You will continue to call our main number and select the option to speak with a Triage Nurse.

We are confident that this enhancement will greatly benefit our patients by providing immediate and professional support for home care needs. We look forward to continuing to serve you with the highest standard of care.

Did you know Individuals with Limited English Proficiency (LEP), either our patients, their families or extended community members, can reach an interpreter who speaks their primary language to assist them in navigating where to call within Wellstar?

The individual seeking help should call Wellstar's Patient Interpreter Line at (470) 944-7300 and inform the interpreter what number within Wellstar they need to call, (e.g., the patient in the hospital, admissions, billing, etc.).

Happy "Tuesday" Creekside Friends.

Effective Tuesday Feb 4, 2025: We are entering "Phase 3" of our Renovations. Our Front Door Entrance is "BLOCKED".

You will need to enter the building through the 2nd set of double doors, once inside turn to the right and enter the wood door. This will be in effect for about 7-10 weeks depending on the construction progress.
