I started noticing this pattern with clients who were the âI know what to doâ women.
The women who had spent YEARS being able to pull things together anytime they wanted results.
Need to lean out a little?
Cool.
Eat less.
Do some extra cardio.
Problem solved.
And honestly? That probably did work for a long time.
Which is why perimenopause feels so confusing.
Because now theyâre doing the SAME thingsâŚand their body is basically responding with....âabsolutely not.â
Recovery feels terrible.
Workouts feel harder.
Cravings get louder.
Fat loss stalls out.
Energy disappears by 3pm.
So naturally the reaction becomes "Okay I just need to be more disciplined.â
But thatâs usually the exact point where things get worse.
PSA you're trying to use old strategies on a body with a completely different stress tolerance and recovery demand now.
And this is why I teach macros differently than most people.
Not as another thing to obsess over.
Not as food rules.
Not as a way to earn your meals.
But as feedback.
Because the better question in perimenopause usually isnât: âHow can I eat less?â
Itâs:âAm I actually supporting the life, stress, training, and recovery demands I have right now?â
Thatâs usually when women finally stop feeling like theyâre failing all the time.
âĄď¸Save this for the next time your brain says: âMaybe I just need to cut food again.â
