Lary Funeral Home and Cremation Services

Lary Funeral Home and Cremation Services The Lary Funeral Home traces its beginnings back to the late 1800s, with the opening of the Hall Undertaking Parlor by Arthur W. Hall. Harold F. Philip S. Lary.

Family owned and operated, the Lary Funeral Home is dedicated to providing services which are personal and meaningful to each of the families it serves since 1934 with chapels in Dover-Foxcroft, Guilford, Milo, and Greenville. The Hall Undertaking Parlor was located in Monument Square in Dover-Foxcroft beneath Perrin’s Drug Store. Lary of Skowhegan purchased the business in 1934 and moved it to it

s present location at 62 Summer Street in Dover-Foxcroft. In 1954 he purchased the funeral business in Milo from A.L. Keniston, now located at 31 Elm Street . Earl Eames, formerly of Prospect, ME, was employed as a funeral director and manager of the Milo location until his retirement in 1986. The Lary Funeral Home also provided ambulance service for southern Piscataquis County until 1971. Annis, a long time employee, along with his wife, the former Jane A. Doble of Milo, purchased the business in 1957, following the death of Mr. Phil’s dedication to personal and caring service is a tradition that has been continued by his son, Eric L. Annis, who purchased the business in 1988. Eric’s son, Ethan L. Annis, a third generation funeral director, is now working as the general manager, and the spirit and commitment of the independent, family owned funeral home will continue to honor the traditions and compassionate service set forth by Harold F. In March of 2016, the Lary Funeral Home Inc. purchased the Neal Funeral Home, with chapels in Guilford and Greenville, operated by Peter B. Neal. With the expansion, Lary Funeral Home Inc. proudly serves all of Piscataquis, and parts of Penobscot and Somerset counties.
