12/12/12 is a date our patient Jane will never forget.

In 2012, Dr. Mills performed a craniotomy for tumor resection on Jane for a Glioblastoma. For those who may not know a patient with a Glioblastoma (a brain tumor) has an average life expectancy of 18 months with treatment.

Today, we are happy to report and celebrate that she is a 10 year survivor of her Glioblastoma!

Jane is a living miracle! As she will tell you herself she is “happier than ever living her best life!”

Thank you Jane for allowing and trusting Dr. Mills to continue caring for you and becoming apart of our Delaware Brain and Spine family! We love you and are so happy you by far have beat the odds!

Congratulations to Dr. James Mills from Delaware Brain and Spine, who completed a case that required a right craniotomy, resection of a tumor, and a right cranioplasty. During this case, Dr. Mills and his OR team at Beebe Healthcare performed the first robotic craniotomy in the state of Delaware!

This multifaceted procedure included the use of ExcelsiusGPS® and its cranial application for robotic arm-guided instrument trajectory assistance and freehand navigation capabilities. Through the use of the robot, Dr. Mills aims to reduce the drawbacks of traditional cranial surgery, decrease radiation exposure for his OR staff and patients, and improve targeting accuracy.
