I didn’t start out in this line of work. Like many folks, life took me in a few different directions before I found myself here. Over the years, I’ve done just about every part of this job, from answering middle of the night house calls to now managing the day to day at the funeral home.

It’s not always easy. We meet people on what is often the hardest day of their lives. And that weight is never lost on me.

Grief is a deeply personal journey, and the people who walk alongside you during it can make a world of difference. Whether it’s the nurse who held your hand, the family member who stayed up with you, or the funeral director who sat down and asked, “What would they have wanted?” Every act of compassion shapes the road ahead.

Here at the funeral home, we take that role seriously. Whether you come to us needing something simple, like a direct cremation, or you're planning a full service with all the details your loved one deserves, our goal is always the same: to treat you and your family with respect, dignity, and the kind of care we’d want for our own.

I’ve been in this line of work for quite a while now, and if there’s one thing I’ve seen time and time again, it’s how tough it is for families to make decisions when they’re in the middle of grief.

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve sat with folks who were heartbroken and overwhelmed, trying to figure out what their loved one would’ve wanted. Burial or cremation? A service or something simple? Did they have anything planned? It’s a lot.

That’s why I always say, making your prearrangements ahead of time is one of the most thoughtful things you can do for your family. When your wishes are already laid out, it takes the weight off their shoulders. It gives them room to breathe, to grieve, to remember, without having to make a dozen hard choices on the spot. And for you, there’s peace of mind in knowing it’s handled.
