New CDC study finds one in five adults ages 18–64 years and one in four ages 65 years and older who survived COVID-19 had a new condition at least 4 weeks after their COVID-19 illness that may be associated with the past illness. Regardless of age, adult COVID-19 survivors had twice the risk of developing a blood clot in the lung or a new respiratory condition.

Today's COVID-19 summary in Delaware reflects data as of Thursday, May 19. Sadly, there were 3 deaths reported from a review of Vital Statistics reports from February to April 2022. The deaths involved 3 residents of New Castle County, who ranged in age from their 60s to their 80s. All 3 had underlying health conditions and all 3 were not vaccinated. The deaths increased Delaware’s total number of COVID-related deaths to 2,939.

The other numbers:
• 818 new positive cases on Thursday, May 19, up 117, bringing the overall total to 271,294. The cumulative breakdown by county: New Castle, 153,780 ; Kent, 52,621; Suss*x, 63,978; county not yet known, 915.
• 19% of total tests were positive in the 7-day rolling average (up four-tenths of percentage point from the previous report).
• 127 current hospitalizations (down 3 from the previous report), including 13 individuals in critical condition.
• 17 new hospital admissions (up 6 from the previous report).
• 2,667 tests performed daily in the 7-day average (up 42 from the previous report).
• 676,436 people fully vaccinated (the data has not been updated from the previous report), according to the CDC Vaccine Tracker.
• 1,840,555 total vaccine doses administered (the data has not been updated from the previous report), according to the CDC Vaccine Tracker.

A Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Home Health Aide of Mirage Health Services is responsible for providing assistance to the professional staff.

Delivers direct care to patients (bathing, toileting, feeding, grooming, etc.) as directed by the RN or LPN in charge. Always maintains patient comfort and safety.

Follows all departmental policies and procedures as well as safety, environmental, and infection control standards.

Represents the facility with integrity, free of gifts or improper inducements.
