🦃 Wentworth-Douglass Hospital continued its holiday tradition by giving every employee a turkey to celebrate the season! More than 2,000 turkeys were handed out as a token of appreciation for the dedication and care our team shows every day. Did you know that it's recommended that older adults complete 150 minutes of physical activity per week?

That includes light to moderate intensity activity. As we get older, tasks and activities of daily living can become more challenging. Exercise can help improve cardiovascular health, bone density, cognitive function, muscular strength and more!

At the Center for Athletes, our athletic trainers and exercise physiologists develop training programs that incorporate aerobic training, strength training, balance and flexibility. The Orthopaedic Walk-In Clinic is now open on Sundays, 8 am–1 pm to better serve our community.

🕒 New Clinic Hours:
• Monday–Friday: 8 am–8 pm
• Saturday & Sunday: 8 am–1 pm

Our clinic is staffed by experienced orthopaedic physician assistants and sees nearly 40 patients per day.

👉 For chronic spine issues or specialized care (Sports Medicine, Arthroplasty, Spine, Hand, Foot & Ankle, Pediatrics, Trauma), appointments are available—most within one week.

The Wentworth-Douglass Foundation recently received a $100,000 grant from the Greater Rochester Community Health Foundation (GRCHF), which will support the construction of a dedicated operating room at our Women and Children’s Center, addressing a growing need for care in our community.

Congratulations to Molly Burke, MSN, RN, who works in the OBGYN Infertility Clinic in Portsmouth, on receiving the DAISY Award for her kindness and thoughtfulness while caring for patients. The special honor is given to extraordinary nurses for the compassionate contributions they make every day, going above and beyond expectations.

“From the moment she greeted me, she made sure I felt safe and supported," says a patient. "Molly brought me into a quiet and comfortable room, dimmed the lights, offered me water, and encouraged me to recline and relax. She took the time to sit down with me—not just to review the clinical plan, but to provide emotional support and reassurance that I genuinely needed in that moment. It meant so much to feel heard and understood.”

As a fellow nurse, the patient added she’ll never forget how Molly made her feel.
