Langdon Place of Dover kicked off our Memory Cafe last week with a presentation on "Why choose a memory care facility vs. living at home". Our Residential Care Director Heather Ericson who is a certified dementia specialist, conducted the presentation for the attendees. Following the presentation, we opened the floor to questions and concerns/challenges our attendees are having with their relatives with dementia. They were able to obtain valuable advice and insight to help them care for their loved ones.

The memory cafe is a joint program between Langdon Place of Dover and Cornerstone VNA. The Cafe meets on the second Tuesday of each month from 2-3 pm. Each month a new dementia-related topic will be discussed. Our next topic will be "Managing Behaviors with Dementia". The flyer for the next 5 Memory Cafe presentations is attached.

If you would like to attend, no RSVP is necessary. You are welcome to attend and bring your loved one with you. We encourage Seacoast residents to take advantage of this free program.

We're a little behind the eight ball here, but we just congratulated our Compassionate Caregivers of November. Thankful was the theme.

You simply can't have one without the other. For over 20 years, Lynn and Lois have filled our halls with kindness, laughter, and unwavering dedication. We are incredibly thankful for their caring hearts, knowledge, reliability, and the joy they bring to everyone they meet.

Their positive attitudes and sense of humor lift our entire community, and we're grateful every day for the countless ways they support our residents and team.
We appreciate these two so deeply that we couldn't nominate them separately; they're an extraordinary pair, and Langdon Place is truly lucky and thankful to have them.

Reminder to anybody in the Seacoast area of New Hampshire who wants to attend our Memory Cafe on Tuesday, January 13, from 2 - 3 pm, you are welcome to join us at Langdon Place of Dover. The Memory Cafe will run on the second Tuesday of each month from 2 - 3 pm. We do have topics each month with Dementia Experts leading the discussion, but this is also a chance for caregivers to discuss any challenges you are having with your loved one who has Dementia, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's or Cognitive Impairment. You will be provided with resources to support your caregiving. You are not alone as you cope with this illness. The first six months of topics are listed. We will have topics for the second half of the year as the Cafe progresses.

The Memory Cafe is a partnership with Cornerstone VNA and Langdon Place of Dover.
