Good evening, everyone! We are expanding and adding occupational therapy to our very busy (mostly pediatric) private practice in Dover, NH. This has been a very disappointing and frustrating week in the history of my business. As many of you may know, I have been tirelessly serving my community as a speech/language pathologist since 2009 when I opened my private practice. My business has grown tremendously since that time and now includes many wonderful speech/language pathologists. We receive outstanding reviews for our work and have never faced legal challenges.

This week, a mother of two children receiving weekly services with us since 2024 has initiated a public smear campaign against me personally and my business because she was legally billed for services rendered. She is spreading false information on Facebook and has even encouraged her friends, who have had no dealings with either me or my business, to post fake 1-star Google reviews.

This mother never disclosed an insurance policy with BCBS to the office and ended up owing an almost $4000 bill to GCSLS due to her own negligence. Because she did not appropriately comply with her BCBS policy and her Wellsense Medicaid policy, both insurance companies refused to pay the claims.

We require all patients to acknowledge they are financially responsible for paying outstanding bills in full within 30 days of notice if denied by insurance for any reason. These policies were reviewed in writing and verbally with this mother and she signed her consent.

GCSLS has never, and will never, participate in illegal billing of patients.

Our Story

Garrison City Speech & Language Services offers pediatric and adult evaluations and treatment for a wide range of conditions affecting speech, language, hearing, voice, swallowing, cognition, social language, and reading/writing skills.

Sharilyn is an ASHA certified speech and language pathologist with over 21 years of clinical experience evaluating and treating children and adults. Prior to beginning her private practice in 2009, she worked in many different clinical settings including hospitals, rehabilitation centers, outpatient clinics, early intervention centers providing home based services, and long term care facilities. She received her bachelor's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of New Hampshire in 1995 and her master's degree in Speech/Language Pathology from the Massachusetts General Hospital-Institute of Health Professions in 1997. She is licensed in the states of New Hampshire and Massachusetts. Sharilyn lives in Dover, NH with her two beautiful children.
