On this day in history, April 14, we remember the lives lost in the RMS Titanic sinkingābut also the unbelievable true stories of those who survived.
Our residents experienced the incredible story of Violet Jessop, a woman whose life feels almost impossible to believe.
She wasnāt just on the Titanic⦠she was on it's sister ships when disaster struck. First, aboard the RMS Olympic in 1911, she survived a massive collision with a warship. Then came the Titanic in 1912, where she escaped in a lifeboat as the ship slipped beneath the icy Atlantic.
And unbelievably, it didnāt end there. During World War I, she served as a nurse on the HMHS Britannic, which struck a mine and sank in under an hour. Violet narrowly escaped death yet again, even jumping from a lifeboat to avoid the shipās propellers.
Three ships. Three disasters. One survivor.
Through this powerful historical portrayal, we honored a story of resilience that truly sounds like something out of a movie! š¢āØ
