"I first started becoming interested in mental health when I was in high school. It was around that time that I started to have my own struggles with anxiety, and I realized how powerful it was to learn about what was going on in my own mind and body. Mental health affects everyone, and I wanted to be a part of caring and supporting people as a therapist!"

At Grace & Gratitude Counseling, our clinicians bring not only their training, but also their lived experiences, empathy, and deep commitment to holding space for others.

Because mental health touches all of us — and no one should have to navigate it alone.

The morning after two work parties back-to-back… and ibuprofen plus the grace of God are the only things keeping me vertical. 🙏😂

If you’re tired of betraying yourself to keep others comfortable, this is your sign.
You deserve a life where you don’t disappear to make room for everyone else.

The latest blog dives deep into self-abandonment, why so many of us learned to people-please to stay “safe,” and how to finally choose yourself without apologizing for it.

👉 Read the full blog now and start reconnecting with the version of you who doesn’t abandon herself for approval.

As the holiday season approaches, our triggers and old coping habits can sneak onto the guest list too. Here are a few ways to stay grounded, regulated, and actually enjoy the season. ✨🎁⭐️

Tips to Stay Grounded:
✨ Name it to tame it — noticing the feeling is the first step toward calming it.
🌿 Take micro-breaks — step outside, take a lap, drink water, reset.
🧘‍♀️ Use your senses — anchor into what you can see, hear, smell, touch.
💬 Set a soft boundary — “I’m going to pause this conversation for now.”
💗 Connect with a safe person — even a quick text can regulate your system.

We’re offering a free 20-minute consultation at Grace & Gratitude if you need support this season.

We love a good comfort show moment
Liz’s go-tos? Parks & Rec, The Great British Bake Off, and pretty much any good documentary series.

Sometimes, slowing down with something familiar is exactly what our nervous systems need.

Grace & Gratitude Counseling is hiring!

We’re looking for an Illinois-licensed therapist-mom to join our women’s anxiety and trauma practice.

Flexible hybrid schedule, supportive team, great pay, and a sustainable caseload.

If working with women and teen girls navigating anxiety, trauma, and the mental load feels like your sweet spot, we’d love to connect. Tag a therapist-mom who should see this!

The holidays can be a time of joy and connection—but they can also bring stress, exhaustion, and the pressure to “hold it all together.” Between family dynamics, financial strain, and the pull to please everyone, it’s easy to lose sight of your own peace and boundaries.

Our clinicians at Grace & Gratitude are here to help you move through the season with more calm, clarity, and compassion for yourself. Whether you’re working through people-pleasing, anxiety, or the weight of expectations, therapy can be a grounding space to reset and realign before the new year.

We’re currently accepting new clients for the holiday season, and sessions tend to fill quickly this time of year.
