Many of you know of Dr. Caruso’s battle with ALS for the past year. Dr. Caruso ended his earthly pilgrimage last night and has gone home to God. He was brave and accepting throughout the whole ordeal. Funeral details below. In your charity, please keep him and our family in your hearts and prayers, as we already miss him dearly. I have a challenge for you. My mother had a great devotion to the Blessed Mother and Rosary. October first begins the month of Mary and the Rosary. Please try to pray it every day. That is the challenge. It’s easier than you think. YouTube has at least four videos. There is at least one app. Some of these can say it in about fifteen minutes. You can say it in your car, before bed, just about anywhere. You can use Rosary beads or your fingers. Now, if you currently say it every day, I have a second challenge for you. Please try to get two other people who don’t say the Rosary to begin. Your intention can be anything you want, but I would appreciate it if I was one of them. Mary , Queen of the Rosary, pray for us. To my patients,

Happy New Year! I want to thank you all for the many thoughts and prayers you’ve shared during my absence. As you may know, I had surgery in August and took time off to recover. In my last update I told you that recovery was going slower than anticipated. I now know that is because I have ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease). This diagnosis has led to the difficult decision to retire from clinical medicine. I have truly enjoyed practicing medicine for the last 28 years but have especially loved the time spent in the last 7 with A Bella Baby OBGYN. Dr Richard Barton, who has been caring for my patients during my absence, will continue to do so for me. He can be reached at 630-810-0358. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers. My dear friends and patients,

As we near this Thanksgiving holiday — the celebration of gratitude — my heart is grateful for all of you. As many of you know, I had surgery in August and took a medical leave of absence. My recovery has taken longer than anticipated and for that I am saddened. I will be out the remainder of the year and hope to have a plan for return at the new year. In the meantime, I have arranged for Dr Richard Barton to care for my patients. He and I share very similar practice philosophies and I trust him completely. To my dear patients and friends — thank you to the many of you who are praying for me and sending me well wishes. I appreciate all of them and are so grateful! Good Morning,
I wanted to give an update regarding my medical progress. Approximately 1 month ago I underwent major surgery because I had significant weakness in my arms. At this point, the healing has been slower than I would have anticipated and the doctors have potentially set my return to clinical work on November 1st. Thank you very much for your thoughts and prayers. Know that I pray for each one of you every day, and I ask for your continued prayers that God's will may be done and that I may return to full activity as soon as possible.
