Bethany is a true champion of growth and belonging—training staff, supporting member entities, and strengthening the ways we make recreation accessible for everyone. 🙌✨

From revamping evaluation systems to creating new tools for communication, Bethany continues to innovate for both staff and participants. Beyond SEASPAR, she shares her expertise with peers through IPRA, on the TR Summit Board of Regents, and as a speaker at the Supervisor Symposium. 🎤📚

🌟 Reliving the Magic of Believe & Achieve 2025 – Super Star Staff 🌟

Our final spotlight from the banquet shines on Molly Marie Downing — a true superstar in the eyes of our participants, families, staff, and volunteers 💛.

Molly’s journey with SEASPAR began in 2017, and since then, she’s worn many hats — from inclusion and special events to EAGLES and youth programs. As Youth Coordinator, she helped create Ray’s Bay Sensory Room in Western Springs and grew our youth programs through her remarkable ability to connect with kids and families.

Even after moving from full-time to part-time in 2023, Molly remains deeply involved — coaching multiple sports, leading Social Club, and spending nearly every weekend bringing SEASPAR programs to life!

And with Molly’s recognition, we wrap up our Believe & Achieve 2025 series 💫.

Thank you to every participant, family, staff member, volunteer, partner, and sponsor who made this night so unforgettable. Here’s to another year of believing, achieving, and shining together!

From August 25–29, the Cathy Mahoney Recreation Center in Downers Grove will be closed to the public — but don’t worry, we’re still here working behind the scenes!💙

If you need to stop by our office, just give us a call when you arrive and we’ll be happy to let you in. (Think of it as our own little secret knock—except it’s a phone ring. 📞😉)

Even when the doors are closed, the work doesn’t stop—we’ve got programs to plan, heroes to cheer on, and plenty of SEASPAR magic in motion! ✨

This year’s Leading Light Award goes to Gianluca Di Nunno 🌟 — a shining example of dedication, positivity, and going above and beyond.

Joining SEASPAR in October 2023, Gianluca jumped right in — eager to learn, help, and create meaningful experiences for our participants. In less than a year, he’s worked across multiple departments, led programs, and even trained to run sensory room activities — always with a can-do attitude and genuine care for everyone around him.

🏅 Reliving the Magic of Believe & Achieve 2025 – Special Olympics State Qualifiers 🏅

In 2024, SEASPAR athletes made history by reaching the highest number of service hours in our sports programs ever! From returning favorites like rhythmic gymnastics to exciting new offerings like co****le, our athletes showed determination, sportsmanship, and an incredible willingness to try new things.

This night, we celebrated those who earned a spot at the Special Olympics Illinois State Competition — honoring not only their skills, but also their teamwork, friendship, and respect for the game 💛.

A huge thank-you to our dedicated coaches for the countless hours spent guiding, teaching, and cheering our athletes on. Together, you make moments like this possible.
