💬 Here is the expert answer:
While far infrared sauna can support wellness, it is best used after your Lymphatic Drainage session. Using it beforehand may affect how lymphatic fluid (chyle) flows, especially if your lymph node junctures are congested then they are not ready and do not have the capacity to to allow the lymphatic load to flow and it can create a backup. This can lead to symptoms such as nausea, headaches, or detox reactions.

For optimal results and safety, always consult your physician and NLC Certified Lymphedema Therapist (CLT) before making changes to your routine.

The post-thrombotic syndrome is an important chronic complication of deep vein thrombosis. Another condition, known as chronic venous insufficiency, may develop following a PTS, which in some cases can be a cause of lymphedema onset.
