We use a variety of treatments in our office including spinal manipulation, acupuncture, MDT, Cranio-sacral therapy and nutritional supplements. We all spend too much time in sedentary postures that don't make us feel good. Our clinic will not only help get you out of pain, but teach you ways to modify your day-to-day activities, thus reducing how much you need us! Each person has unique circumstances that brings them to our office, so we tailor the treatment to meet the goals and needs of each patient. 💪 FUEL YOUR RUN - Proper nutrition is essential for optimal running performance.

🕛 Before: easy to digest carbs, avoid high fat foods. Ex: toast with nut butter and berries, oatmeal

🕔 During: quick carbs that are easy to digest during the run - glycogen stores are depleted after about 30-45 minutes of running and must be replenished. Ex: honey, maple syrup, or energy gels

🕘 After: replenish carbs + protein + electrolytes. Ex: chocolate milk. Eat a full meal within 2 hours of run

Strong hips are crucial to distance running. As we run further, our muscles fatigue more. So it’s important to have the strength to keep good form throughout the run. Strong hips will reduce pressure on the knees and ankles, allowing you to run without injury!

MYTH OR FACT: RUNNER'S HIGH 🏃🏽‍♀️🏃🏻‍♂️

➡ Fact! While not everyone achieves a runner's high, it CAN happen. *Despite popular opinion that the euphoric post run feeling many people get is from the release of endorphins, studies show it is actually likely due to the activation of the endocannabinoid system - the same system activated when people consume cannabis.

🤞 Increase your chances of a runners high:
- Run for extended period of time - it takes time for the endocannabinoids to move through the body
- Maintain moderate pace - run at a pace that is challenging but sustainable
- Avoid overexertion - stress will negate the feeling your are striving for.

☝ Remember, not everyone achieves that euphoric feeling post run, so it is important that you listen to your body in order to avoid injury.

👟 Trail: Softest, but most dynamic. Changes with every step. Never boring!
👟 Treadmill: Consistent, but can easily adjust speed and incline. Can be less interesting.
👟 Track: Harder than a trail but more predictable. Easy to run with friends!

One possible cause of shin pain with running is poor activation of the muscles in the front of the shin. Strengthening these muscles through this isometric exercise can reduce shin pain. Pulling the toes up and holding allows this muscle to be activated without any high impact activity. Don’t let pain get in the way of your run! 🏃🏼‍♀️
