Our hearts are broken at A Child’s Light. We hope with yesterday’s tragic event that legislators can come together in a bipartisan way to show that mental health care is needed at the very earliest signs. Studies have shown that 98% of US residents believe that mental health should be considered just as important at physical health and that Congress is not allocating enough resources to mental health and especially pediatric mental. Both democrat and republican constituents believe that more funding should be directed at mental health. We hope at this painful moment that we can finally come together and address the childhood mental health crisis in this country before we lose more innocent children. Our thought and prayers are with everyone who is feeling the impact of this tragedy

✨ From Locked Windows to Open Fields ✨

At just ten years old, a little boy we served was consumed by fear. After years of abuse, he hid in his bedroom, begging for locked windows and alarms—his world reduced to one small space.

With the help of A Child’s Light, therapy, and the love of his grandparents, he began to heal. A donated scooter became his first step toward freedom—circling the yard, then the neighborhood, until one day he found himself on a middle school football field, running with teammates, laughing, and truly living again.

Too often, people assume abuse happens only to girls. But boys experience trauma too—and they deserve the same chance to heal, grow, and thrive. At A Child’s Light, we are here for all children who need a path to safety and hope. 💛
