In today’s Gospel, Jesus says, “Do not let your hearts be troubled.” At Saint John Vianney Center, we see those troubled hearts are in Clergy, and in Men and Women Religious who carry tremendous responsibility in caring for others with limited resources. But we also see the healing that comes when they’re supported with compassion and faith.

Christ is the way forward, and together, we can help our Church Ministers find that path to hope and healing.

This Mental Health Awareness Month, we pause to recognize a group that often carries the weight of others’ struggles while quietly setting aside their own—those in religious life.

Men and women religious and clergy are pillars of guidance, compassion, and service. Yet behind that calling, they can face stress, burnout, isolation, and emotional fatigue—just like anyone else.

At Saint John Vianney Center we are honored to provide a space where clergy and religious can focus on their own well-being. A place where they are supported, understood, and encouraged to care for themselves as deeply as they care for others.

Seeking help is not a sign of weakness—it is an act of courage and stewardship of one’s vocation.

This month, and every month, we reaffirm our commitment to compassionate, confidential care for those who dedicate their lives to serving others.

Last week, SJVC shared our mission in New Orleans at the National Association of Church Personnel Administration’s (NACPA) annual convocation.

The 2026 convocation was the largest to date, with attendees coming from across the US. SJVC HR Director Linda Rava, MS, SHRM-CP, delivered an in-depth, faith-integrated, and practical session on Management and Conflict Resolution. The opening Mass for the convocation took place at Immaculate Conception Jesuit Church, a beautiful church located in the heart of the city.

Jesus says, “I am the gate for the sheep… I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.” The Good Shepherd calls His sheep by name, leads them to safety, and gives them life to the fullest.
At Saint John Vianney Center, the Risen Christ, our Good Shepherd, meets Clergy and Men and Women Religious who come to us weary, wounded, or lost. Through compassionate care, prayer, and community, He protects, heals, and restores them, guiding them back to abundant, joyful ministry.
In this Easter Season, we give thanks for the Shepherd who never abandons His flock.

This Earth Day, Saint John Vianney Center continued our meaningful tradition of planting a tree every year. This year, an oak tree was chosen, symbolizing strength, growth, and 80 years of dedicated service. This moment reminds us that just like the trees we plant, our mission continues to grow deeper and stronger with each passing year.
