Today was my first powerlifting meet. It was a blast! ⁣

To give a sneak peek of my process. I have lifted my whole life but I have never really pushed it to see how much weight I could actually lift. I set a new movement goal about every 2 years or so this was next. ⁣

So last January I began the journey. Slow and steady working on technique and adding weight. ⁣

Once I knew I could do it, I recruited Chuck Miller to help me with technique. We met several times to address my form⁣
and figure out weights. ⁣

Then, I only wanted to gain muscle and get stronger, so I recruited .barakat to help me dial in my nutrition and programming. We made lots of tweaks along the way. Bonus was I put on a couple pounds of muscle and dropped my body fat about .5% to 14%. It’s HARD to gain muscle, much easier to lose body fat BTW. ⁣

They were invaluable!! I’m so grateful!⁣

You may be wondering why I would hire a coach - because I 💯 believe to get to the next level you need to hire people better than you at what you want to be better at!! ⁣

It was a fantastic experience with really awesome people and I lifted the most I ever lifted in my life which was my ONLY goal! ⁣

I sent a message to my favorite doctor to thank him for helping me save my leg that I could have lost 6 years ago. ⁣

Squat 170.5 ⁣
Bench 115.7 ⁣
Deadlift 264.5 ⁣
Total 550.7⁣

Hi friends! It’s about that time for another introduction. I see a lot of new faces on here.⁣

First, thank you so much for following my page! I am super grateful for your support and hope to share with you the best ways to help you heal your body, decrease inflammation and live with vitality through mindset, nutrition and movement . ⁣

✅I have spent my entire career in the health field . I started personal training when I was 18 and competed in Miss Fitness America and Miss Figure USA. I majored in nutrition and dietetics at UD. ⁣

✅My brother has been my greatest influence . He passed away at the age of 29 from cancer and he gave me the greatest gift - purpose to change lives . My mom also had cancer while we were both caring for my brother. ⁣
✅I opened my own personal training studio at 22 years old and had that for 13 years . I loved every second! ⁣
✅I pursued my doctorate in PT because I knew there was more than nutrition and fitness to helping individuals . ⁣
✅I was diagnosed with stage 3 cancer in 2015 when I was about to get married . Through radiation, chemo, surgery and more chemo - I trained for ANW and competed 4 months after my treatment on season 8. ⁣
✅After my journey, I opened up my dream practice, , an integrative health center.
✅I’m obsessed with movement and I’m always trying new things. I’m currently training for a powerlifting meet. ⁣
✅I completed my graduate work in Applied Mindfulness which has been amazing personally and professionally. ⁣
✅I launched my book, Rise Up, about my journey of healing through mindset, nutrition, and movement! Check it out on Amazon!⁣
✅I’m currently studying for my functional medicine certification.⁣
✅I’m married to the best husband, John, and have a awesome stepson, Kolby.⁣
