What a bloomin’ great day! Downs Care and Rehab celebrated Nursing Home Week with our “Nacho Average BBQ” on Wednesday evening! Residents, staff, families, and community members came together for an evening filled with food, fun, music, and camaraderie. It was a beautiful night full of laughter, connection, and special moments shared together.
A huge thank you to Cheyenne Knoll for blessing us with wonderful music and helping create memories that will last a lifetime. We are so grateful to everyone who joined us and made the evening such a success.

As part of our Mission Giving Event-
This year a custom blessing box was built and placed outside the facility to help out the community. Today we did a ribbon cutting following our annual car show🎗️✂️

Please feel free to come and take what you need or add something for the next person.

On Wednesday, staff and residents came together for a fun-filled Cheeseball toss! Staff members wore shower caps covered in shaving cream while residents aimed and tossed Cheeseballs at their heads. Lots of laughter and friendly competition made it a memorable activity for everyone involved!

This morning, residents enjoyed a fun day getting their hands dirty by decorating flower pots and planting flowers. This afternoon, staff and residents had a great time making dirt cake and were treated to delicious dirty sodas.

Schedule is up for the week!!

🌸Monday May 11th we will be in Downs at Downs Care and Rehab from 11 to 2 for nursing home week!!

🌸Tuesday find us in Beloit on the corner of Hersey and South from 11 to 2!

🌸Friday in Glen Elder from 5:30 to 7:30!

🌸Saturday at the Glen Elder Marina starting at 11 and going to sold out!!

We’ve had to revamp the menu and added a new special this week!! Our fryer is currently on the mend, we are patiently waiting for a part for our big fryer so we switched our homemade French fry’s to baked potato and baked sweet potato, still just as yummy but in its original form (and healthier for that summer body )!!

Thank you to the Downs Fire Department for their quick response to our facility today. We are happy to report "All Clear". All residents, staff, and the facility are safe, it was a false alarm.
