Life In Balance Health and Nutrition Coaching We all know the diet industry makes billions of dollars each year. Well I am here to tell you the problem is them- not you!

I am a certified health and nutrition coach and personal trainer who helps women in mid life find balance and helps them lose unwanted weight with delicious plant focused food It counts on people starting a program, having some level of success, then stopping the program and gaining weight back. The issue is that almost ALL diet plans require you to make big changes to your everyday life and eating habits. And often these are changes that make you feel BAD. Hungry, tired, craving carbs, constipated, bad breath... you know! There IS a better way and a way that you can change your habits for good while still enjoying your life.

Last December, we were encouraged when the Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee—the expert body that informs federal nutrition policy—released its recommendations for the 2025–2030 U.S. Dietary Guidelines.

The science-backed report called for choosing plant proteins over animal proteins, limiting saturated fat, and eating a more whole-food, plant-forward diet overall. The official guidelines, released this week, diverge from that advice.

Happy 2026!! 💫

This time of year I like to think about anything from 2025 I want to leave behind.

Examples of this might be- negative self talk, putting time lines on health and fitness, over consumption of alcohol, sugar, high fat foods.

And it's a great time to think about behaviors you want to bring into the new year. For me this is- continuation of my health journey, keep lifting and getting stronger, stillness daily, journaling several days a week and not allowing stress to overtake my brain! 😁

Today's delicious lunch was about 300 calories and super filling. 🩵
My bowl contains 4 oz steamed potatoes, 3 oz of tofu air fried, and sautéed zucchini and mushrooms drizzled wth bbq sauce. 😚
