Trauma remains stuck in your body long after the traumatic event is over. You can't just talk it away. You have to teach the body that it is safe in the present and that the past is over. You survived the worst of it!

Traditional psychotherapy teaches you cognitive skills to treat an emotional problem, when in reality you can't heal a FEELING issue through a THINKING approach. To heal anxiety you need a feeling solution. The pain is coming from a state of alarm in your body that came from emotional wounds and trauma in your family of origin. You need to feel it to heal it, to go back to the time when the abuse, trauma, loss, rejection, bullying, etc. occurred, and comfort the child that is still inside you. That child has been holding onto the alarm. It is the alarm feeling that is causing your pain, the worries are a by product of the old unresolved trauma that is still stuck in your body.
