This 4th of July, we’re celebrating more than fireworks and freedom 🇺🇸✨

We’re grateful to live in a country where we have the freedom to raise our children with choice — especially when it comes to their health.

At The Brain Base, we believe in honoring the body’s natural intelligence, supporting development without interference, and empowering families to choose what’s best for their kids.

Medical freedom means we can ask questions, explore alternatives, and pursue care that aligns with our values. That’s something worth protecting.

Wishing you a safe and meaningful Independence Day from all of us at The Brain Base! 🎇🧠❤️💙

Kids love to move, whether it’s running🏃🏻, jumping🤾🏼‍♂️, swinging🧗🏾‍♂️, or anything in between🏄🏽🧘🏻‍♀️🪂. We are designed to move and kids are innately driven to it. Movement is severely underrated in the role it plays in our lives. It exercises the body but more importantly it drives stimulation to the brain. As areas of the brain are stimulated, that stimulation drives development. As the brain develops that leads to increased ability to adapt and express life. Adapting and expressing life is what we all do every hour of everyday. Kids with developmental delays are often misunderstood as a result of their behaviors and perceived lack of ability. These kids aren’t faulty. Rather these “faults” are often the result of the brain being slower to adapt and express due to the brain not receiving the proper stimulation in the first place. We can address this by creating the movements that are designed to stimulate the brain 🧠 We do this with specific exercises in our office, but you can help at home too! Give your kids ample time to RUN, JUMP, SWING and anything in between🏃🏻🤾🏼‍♂️🧗🏾‍♂️🏄🏽🧘🏻‍♀️🪂

We know how important crawling is for babies👶🏻, but did you know it can have a large, beneficial impact on your older children? Or even YOU, the parent🤯

That’s right!! Crawling not only helps with balance, coordination and over all muscle strength; but also the cross body movement helps connect the right and left brain 🧠. As these two hemisphere are able to work more efficiently, they create neural pathways crucial for reading, memory, and problem solving🧐.

A few easy ways to add crawling into your family’s life:
🚼follow your baby—when they crawl, you crawl🚼crawl on all fours as you clean up toys
🚼choose a room to crawl to and from each day
🚼crawl up and down the stairs

Boost your brain and start CRAWLING 🧠

Early intervention is key!
Did you know that your child’s brain goes through MASSIVE growth within the first two years of their life? They are learning, growing and making connections about the world around them at an astounding rate.

This is also an opportunistic time to address any delays or missed milestones. Because their brains are exploding with development, change can happen faster and more efficiently. It also gives them a strong foundation for growth in the future.

If your child is older than two, is it too late? No, of course not! The brain can still change and adapt for many years to come. With the right interventions and TIME, your child still experiences incredible growth.

If you have a provider telling you developmental delays or missed milestones are normal or to just wait it out, it’s probably time to see someone new. Why would you wait to create positive change in your child’s life?It is easier to build strong children than to fix broken adults🧠.

Kids don’t develop at random! They follow a specific developmental pattern. Each step of this pattern builds off the previous. However sometimes, for whatever reason, a child’s developmental may take a turn. Steps are missed or skipped over all together. Those missing steps can cause a lot of the things we see affecting our kids:👧🏼sensory processing disorders🧒🏻speech delays👧🏽social and emotional issues🧒🏼trouble with fine and gross motor skills👧🏻coordination problems🧒🏾reading challenges …and the list goes on.But we have found that we are able to rewind and help children recreate the developmental steps they missed. That is why we are able to see such long lasting and impactful results. It takes a little bit of work and time up front, but allows your child to be fully prepared for their future🧠.

What are primitive reflexes? Primitive reflexes are a set of automatic movements and responses that are present in newborns. They are a normal part of infant development and important for survival and early motor development. Primitive reflexes usually disappear during the first few months of life as a baby’s nervous system matures. They are seen as building blocks for all brain development. But if these reflexes stick around longer than they should and do not integrate properly, it tells us there may be underlying neurological or developmental issues. Retained primitive reflexes can affect:👉🏼 Fine and gross motor skills👉🏼Eye tracking and coordination👉🏼Focus and attention👉🏼Spatial awareness and perception👉🏼Sensory integrationWhen you concentrate on integrating these primitive reflexes through specific movements to stimulate the brain, you will often see MASSIVE changes in learning and development 🧠 Polarity Design Co
