The incredible Outreach team at Penn Medicine Doylestown Health is all about bringing people together through health and happiness. This fall, they hosted a family-friendly wellness event at Tabora Farms complete with apple picking, local treats, and plenty of smiles!

These events are part of our wellness program, designed to support associates and their families in staying healthy, connected, and enjoying all the good things our community has to offer.

Ray Eisenhart, RN, a nurse in the catheterization and electrophysiology labs at Penn Medicine Doylestown Health, is the kind of teammate who makes everyone around him better. Whether it’s troubleshooting complex equipment, keeping tools in top shape, or spending hours organizing cables just to make things run smoother, Ray does it all with a smile.

He’s constantly finding ways to make his department safer and more efficient, and his positive energy is contagious. Patients adore him (some even known to request him by name!), and so do we.

It’s easy to see why Ray has been recognized as Associate of the Month. He’s the kind of person who reminds us what great care really looks like, both behind the scenes and at the bedside.

Thank you, Ray, for everything you do. You make us proud.

When a patient described Kevin Jordan, a patient care tech at Penn Medicine Doylestown Health, they didn’t just mention his skill, they spoke about his enthusiasm, his patience, and the comfort he brings at the end of a long day. To them, Kevin felt less like a caregiver and more like a good friend.

That kind of impact is what the R.O.S.E. Award (Remarkable. Outstanding. Service. Everyday.) is all about. This recognition honors patient care techs and unit clerks who provide exceptional care and service to patients and visitors.

Congratulations, Kevin, on this well-deserved award!

Just before her 34th birthday, Kate Korson—then living in Colorado—found a lump in her breast she described as “massive.” Everything came to a screeching halt when after a mammogram, the radiologist delivered devastating news: it looked like cancer.

Kate called Penn Medicine that same day. She knew she wanted to be treated close to her childhood home, a place where both of her parents had once received lifesaving care. When she connected with a nurse navigator, she felt immediate relief, knowing someone would guide her through every step of treatment for triple-negative breast cancer, an aggressive and challenging diagnosis.

“Even if I lived halfway across the world, Penn is where I would have gone,” Kate said.

Shocked to learn she had stage III breast cancer, Kate Korson knew just where to go. She flew home to Penn Medicine, where a clinical trial saved her life.

In the quiet hours of the night, when hospitals can feel especially still, one team member brought light, energy, and comfort to a patient who needed it most.

Joe Quinn, a nurse at Penn Medicine Doylestown Health, was recently recognized with a DAISY Award.

Joe’s nomination came directly from a patient who shared:

“Joe came in for a night shift with enthusiasm and energy. He was patient, kind, and willing to help. Being away from family at night can feel lonely, but Joe brought comfort at the end of the day. He felt like a good friend.”

This kind of compassion can’t be taught; it comes from the heart.

We’re proud to celebrate Joe for the comfort, kindness, and connection he brings to every shift.

When a child faces a mental health crisis, finding care can feel overwhelming. One parent’s story highlights the real struggles families face and why mental health care is the greatest community need.

Doylestown Hospital CEO James Brexler, a Bucks County neighbor and leader, is stepping up alongside the Lenape Valley Foundation to make support more accessible, compassionate, and local. This is more than care, it’s a commitment to families in our community. http://spr.ly/6186AUY9p

This fall, our Penn Medicine Doylestown Health community came together to support the Ann Silverman Community Health Clinic (ASCHC) through Good Stuff Thrift’s seasonal collection drive.

Founded 31 years ago by one of our own physicians, ASCHC provides free medical, dental, and behavioral health care to thousands of uninsured neighbors in Bucks County. Many of our doctors continue to volunteer their time at the clinic, keeping our bond with the clinic strong.

We’re grateful to Good Stuff Thrift for their faithful partnership and to every member of our community who helped turn fall giving into lasting impact for local children and families.

We are thrilled to celebrate Dr. Sonal Mayekar, medical director of Penn Radiation Oncology at Doylestown Hospital, whose dedication and compassion inspire everyone around her. Patients know her not only for her expertise, but for the way she listens, explains, and walks beside them every step of the way making the most complex treatments feel understandable and the hardest moments a little lighter.

Her colleagues call her “the most compassionate radiation oncologist I’ve ever worked with” and praise her dedication to putting patients first, always.

Dr. Mayekar was recently honored to receive the Earth Angel Award from Main St. Organization, a reflection of the extraordinary impact she makes on her patients and her community, every single day. During her remarks, Dr. Mayekar reflected on her desire to make an impact and support her patients, “That strength really encouraged me to move forward with my career, become a physician, a radiation oncologist, and come back to the community to serve and show my patients that strength and courage that brought me to this field — and try to share it with them to help them see the light as well, to help them get through these tough times.”

A heartfelt thank you to Today is a Good Day for the incredible care bags they donated to families spending time in the intensive care nursery at Penn Medicine Doylestown Hospital.

Parents have been deeply moved the thoughtful gifts of books, journals, milestone cards, bonding squares, and more. These special touches of support remind them they're not alone during what can be very challenging days.

We're grateful for a community that helps us surround our patients with care and compassion.

After her twin tested BRCA2-positive, Brooklyn Olumba got tested, leading to her own breast cancer diagnosis. Now she’s educating other young women of color.

“The biggest thing that I want people to know is that your family’s history is also your history,” Brooklyn said. “If you’re not having these open conversations, you can’t be proactive. If my fraternal twin sister hadn’t gotten genetic testing, I wouldn’t have had my first mammogram until I was 40.”
