Did you know? I have extensive experience with Sciatica and Piriformis Syndrome! This occurs when your sciatic nerve is compressed, entrapped and/or irritated by the piriformis muscle as it passes deeply through your buttock, resulting in pain and discomfort. When the Piriformis is compressed and contracted it presses on the sciatic nerve and causes pain, numbness and tingling along the back of the leg and when it is really triggered it can head into the knee and then your foot. The piriformis muscle is a small muscle located deep in the buttock (behind the gluteus maximus). It is important to work with someone who has had training and experience with the sciatica with men and women of all ages. It is also important to work the Illiotibial Band (IT Band) that is located on the outer thigh from hip to knee. The iliotibial band runs along the lateral or outside aspect of your thigh, from your pelvis to the tibia, which crosses both the hip and knee joints. I’ve been in practice since 1996 and am trained in many modalities. The major modality that assists in chronic pain relief that I use is an Integrated Myofascial Release session. I’m also trained in Active Isolated Stretching so I can teach you to stretch the correct way. Here’s my website: www.janestinson.com, call/text: 215-262-8785, email: janefstinson@gmail.com.
