Peggy DeMaio Trauma‑informed, hands‑on care supporting nervous system regulation, chronic pain, and stress.

I offer trauma‑informed, non‑invasive, hands‑on care for people living with chronic pain, nervous system dysregulation, anxiety, and long‑term stress. My work is grounded in safety, clarity, and respect for each person’s pace and capacity. I support individuals seeking thoughtful, science‑based care that works with the nervous system rather than trying to override it. I practice in Doylestown, PA and work with people who are looking for a steady, informed approach to healing.

Something in a YouTube video I watched recently really resonated:
when life feels overwhelming, curiosity is often the gentlest next step.
Not a plan.
Not a commitment. (This can be paralyzing for many)
Just a small, low‑pressure question your nervous system can tolerate.
“What if I tried this?”
“What if it worked out well?”
“What would it feel like to explore that?”
“What’s one tiny thing I’m drawn to today?”
Curiosity can lower the threat.
It opens the door without forcing you to walk through it.

March doesn’t need a big reset or a long to‑do list.
Sometimes it’s enough to notice what’s already growing, even quietly.

This little reminder felt like a gentle nudge toward paying attention to the small things, making room for joy, and staying present where we are.

No pressure. Just noticing.

Which one speaks to you today? See mine in the comments.

Some days remind us that nothing stays the same, not the snow, not the season, not the moment we’re in.

Today the sun came out, the pond started to melt, and it felt like a quiet invitation to just pause and take it in.

If you’re moving through something heavy, or simply rushing through the day, take one breath, look around, and notice one small thing that feels good.

Sometimes that’s enough to shift the whole nervous system. ❄️☀️💛

What’s one thing you noticed today that made you stop for a moment?

Scream 7 merch has officially landed over here.
Tell me — are you planning to go see it?
Or have you already braved the theater?

I love hearing what my people are watching, especially when it’s something fun we can all chat about.

(And don’t worry… Ghostface is not invited to your session. Your nervous system is safe with me. 😉)

Today was a hair‑care day!
And also, a nervous‑system awareness kind of day.

There’s something powerful about letting yourself be cared for, even in small, everyday ways.
Sitting under the dryer, feeling warm water on your scalp, letting your shoulders drop. These are moments your system recognizes as safety. I let my stylist take over and be in the driver seat. I LET GO!

Healing isn’t always big or dramatic.
Sometimes it’s quiet.
Sometimes it’s ordinary.
Sometimes it’s a chair at the salon where your whole body finally exhales.

❓What’s one small thing that helps your system soften?

Su***de awareness

Su***de awareness

We’ll keep sharing this post until the word “committed” is no longer used in conjunction with su***de.

People can die from the unbearable weight of life, people can die from broken hearts, and people can die from not understanding how to navigate a complicated mental health system.

People do not, however, commit su***de. Su***de is not a crime. People die by su***de.

Let’s update our language and fight to improve our mental health system. Mental health support and improved access to better treatment *IS* su***de prevention.

A line from a YouTube video I watched recently stayed with me:
Meaning isn’t something you find — it’s something you build through small steps.

That’s also how the nervous system works.
Not through pressure.
Not through big leaps.
But through tiny, safe experiments that your system can actually digest.

👉🏼If life feels heavy or unclear, start small. Just start.
Your system will meet you there.

The snow is coming down fast here, and the roads are getting slick. The office will be closed on Monday, 2/23/26.

Please stay warm, stay safe, and take good care of yourselves out there.

There’s something comforting about watching the cardinals and show up in the quiet. A little reminder that even on cold wintry days, there’s still beauty to be found.

Cognitive dissonance is that uncomfortable moment when your brain has to choose between the truth and the story it’s been holding onto for safety.

It’s not a flaw.
It’s not stubbornness.
It’s your nervous system trying to protect you with the information it had at the time.

When new truths arrive, the body sometimes needs a little support to catch up.
If this resonates, you’re in good company.
