🌀 New Vestibular Research: Dizziness Is More Than a Balance Problem
A recent 2025 study in the Journal of Vestibular Research confirms what many of our patients already know: dizziness affects far more than balance. Researchers interviewed adults living with chronic dizziness and found it impacts nearly every part of daily life.
Key takeaways:
✔️ Dizziness can affect movement, vision, sleep, and energy
✔️ Many people limit social activities due to fear, embarrassment, or loss of independence
✔️ Anxiety, frustration, depression, and “brain fog” are widespread
✔️ Relationships, work, and confidence often suffer
Notably, the study also highlights something hopeful: people adapt and build resilience. Participants found relief through vestibular therapy, pacing activities, mindfulness, and strong support systems.
💡 Why this matters:
Traditional medical tests don’t always capture how deeply dizziness affects quality of life. This research supports a more whole-person approach—treating not just symptoms, but how dizziness affects movement, thinking, emotions, and daily living.
At WWS Physical Therapy & Vestibular Rehabilitation, this is precisely how we approach care: listening carefully, personalizing treatment, and helping patients regain confidence and independence.
You’re not alone—and recovery is possible. If dizziness is affecting your life, we’re here to help. WWS Physical Therapy and Vestibular Rehabilitationwidespread
