❄️ Winter Storm Safety Message from WWS Physical Therapy and Vestibular Rehabilitation ❄️
To our patients, friends, and families—
A major winter storm is moving through our area, bringing snow, freezing rain, and a wintry mix, creating extremely dangerous road and walking conditions. Your safety is our top priority.
We strongly encourage everyone to stay off the roads if possible. If you must go out, please take extra precautions:
• 🐧 Walk like a penguin — short steps, feet pointed slightly outward, and arms free for balance
• Wear sturdy, non-slip footwear
• Avoid rushing and use handrails when available
• Ask for help with shoveling or plowing—don’t risk injury by doing it alone
• Be especially cautious of ice hidden beneath snow
Falls and winter injuries are common during storms like this, and prevention is key.
Please stay warm, stay safe, and look out for one another. We are thinking of you and wishing everyone a safe passage through this storm.
With care,
WWS Physical Therapy and Vestibular Rehabilitation

🌀 New Vestibular Research: Dizziness Is More Than a Balance Problem
A recent 2025 study in the Journal of Vestibular Research confirms what many of our patients already know: dizziness affects far more than balance. Researchers interviewed adults living with chronic dizziness and found it impacts nearly every part of daily life.
Key takeaways:
✔️ Dizziness can affect movement, vision, sleep, and energy
✔️ Many people limit social activities due to fear, embarrassment, or loss of independence
✔️ Anxiety, frustration, depression, and “brain fog” are widespread
✔️ Relationships, work, and confidence often suffer
Notably, the study also highlights something hopeful: people adapt and build resilience. Participants found relief through vestibular therapy, pacing activities, mindfulness, and strong support systems.
💡 Why this matters:
Traditional medical tests don’t always capture how deeply dizziness affects quality of life. This research supports a more whole-person approach—treating not just symptoms, but how dizziness affects movement, thinking, emotions, and daily living.
At WWS Physical Therapy & Vestibular Rehabilitation, this is precisely how we approach care: listening carefully, personalizing treatment, and helping patients regain confidence and independence.
You’re not alone—and recovery is possible. If dizziness is affecting your life, we’re here to help. WWS Physical Therapy and Vestibular Rehabilitationwidespread
