Arthritis or Something Else?
Arthritis is more than just joint pain—it's true inflammation within the joint. But not all aches and stiffness are arthritis. Many conditions can mimic it, including:
* Tendinitis & bursitis
* Ligament or meniscus injuries
* Patellofemoral pain syndrome
* Nerve entrapment or radiculopathy
* Systemic conditions like Lyme disease or autoimmune disorders
How to tell the difference:
• Morning stiffness: True arthritis usually improves within 30 minutes; mimics often worsen with activity.
• Pain with movement: Arthritis causes pain even with passive joint motion; mimics usually do not.
• Systemic symptoms: Fever, fatigue, or rash may signal true arthritis.
• Lab results: Elevated ESR or CRP points to inflammatory arthritis; normal labs may indicate a mimic.
Why it matters:
A proper diagnosis is key to effective treatment. Pairing medical evaluation with chiropractic care, physical therapy, and sports medicine can improve joint function, reduce pain, and get you moving better-long-term.
Don't guess-get clarity. Your joints deserve it!
