Something I was pondering while my Yoga class was in savasana today…….
As the world slowly adjusts to our new normal, I've found myself reflecting on the incredible power of community and the profound effect it has on our practice of Yoga.
While our personal practice at home holds its unique charm, the ambiance and collective energy of a group in a studio is irreplaceable. Have you ever noticed how the vibe of a room changes when people come together with a shared intention? It doesn’t matter if it’s a gathering of 3 or 30; there's a palpable warmth and connection that uplifts and nourishes our soul.
The pandemic undeniably altered our routines and forced us into a cocoon of isolation. We adapted, turning to the solace of our homes, piecing together routines with the help of online platforms and free content. But let’s admit it, while these have their merits, they cannot replicate the magic of practicing Yoga alongside others, sharing energy, and drawing strength from the collective.
A 'sanga' or community isn't just about practicing Yoga together; it's about connection, shared experiences, and growing in unity. It's about the gentle smiles exchanged, the silent nods of encouragement, and the palpable energy of everyone moving in harmony.
If you've been away from the studio for a while, consider this a gentle nudge. Reconnect with the community, even if it's just once a week or once every other week. Your mind, body, and soul will thank you for it.
May you be well. 🙏💛
