Cassista Chiropractic

Cassista Chiropractic Chiro health/wellness speaker to groups, clubs, & organizations. FB managed by Dr. Lorraine Cassista I am a second generation chiropractor. I love to stay active.

My father had a practice in Dracut. I became a chiropractor because chiropractic saved my life – literally! When I was three years old, I got a collapsed lung from a fall off of the top bunk of a bunk bed. I was in the hospital and not responding well. My lung would not inflate even with the best interventions of the day. Because my father was studying to be a chiropractor at the time, he enlisted the help of a chiropractor who came to the hospital and gave me an adjustment. That adjustment turned my life power back on! My lung began to inflate and began the process of healing. When I was about seven, my parents told me the story. It impacted me so much that I have to say I became a chiropractor when I was seven. Since following the footsteps of my dad, I have never wanted to be anything else since then. Because of my personal experience and after learning the things I did in school, I realized that pain relief care alone was not enough. I work at giving people the opportunity to reach correction and wellness, so they not only feel better, they function better. Corrective chiropractic care helps get the spine back to normal much like an orthodontist helps straighten your teeth. Our best practice members are people who are eager to learn how the body works, want to make the changes necessary to attain and maintain health and want to be well and stay well, not only for themselves, but for their families. They understand that bringing their children in for care is the best way to allow them to grow and develop to reach their fullest potential! I enjoy tennis, golf, racquetball, basketball, sailing, wakeboarding, water skiing, snowboarding and generally love life. One of my favorite things is to speak to groups. As a result, I am a frequent guest speaker to many groups, clubs and organizations. I was the keynote speaker at a NH Nurse Practitioners Conference, speaker for Verizon Retirees two times, featured speaker for the Lowell Public school nurses and for area Catholic School PTO's and many other groups on a variety of topics. I love the feeling I get when I see light bulbs going on in peoples' heads when they get a realization and understanding of their bodies and what to do to stay healthy. Educating through speaking to groups is a close tie with tennis for what I love to do most. To help reduce holiday stress, prioritize your "to-do" list and eliminate nonessentials or delegate the least important items. Remember you can't be all things to everyone. While you're at it, pare down your gift-down giving list to those family and friends closest to you. Learn to say no to those things that cause a drain of energy and emotional well-being in your life. Remember to come in for a chiropractic checkup when you first notice signs of stress to help keep it in check.

Charlie Brown is meek, gentle, kind-hearted, and shy with many anxieties. He often fails because of his insecurities, yet maintains determination and hope. He's the underdog we all root for. Does this sound like a child or adult that you know? Let's lend them encouraging support instead of giving them a label. Labels don't cure. The proper treatment can. Stop relying on labels and medications to solve the problem. Identify the symptoms and recommend chiropractic care to restore their nervous system to maximum functioning.

Pregnancy puts a strain on your body in more ways than one. Because the abdomen gets larger in most women and the pelvic ligaments and joints loosen to accommodate birth, a lot more pressure is placed on your lower back. That added strain changes the curves in your spine and can impinge on nerves causing low back pain.
Pregnant women frequently get tons of relief from chiropractic care during their pregnancy. Chiropractic is safe and effective for pregnant women. Of course, we accommodate for the changing body and use mild techniques. By far the majority of our pregnant patients also experience easier births and less time in labor.

Is Bad Posture Connected To Your Mood?
Whenever you’re sitting at a computer, be conscious of your posture and keep your feet evenly planted on the ground.
As many people are finding themselves spending more time sitting slumped behind a screen or standing on their feet for hours on end without a break, paying attention to your posture is more important than ever.
If you’ve never thought much about whether you’re sitting or standing stance is doing harm to your health, you might want to start before you find yourself in a bad mood.
Here’s why:
Each time we lean forward 60 degrees, the stress placed on our neck is increased dramatically. This can lead to numbness, pain, pinched nerves and improper breathing—none of which are good for your mood! Stress on your neck can also lead to tense upper back and shoulder muscles resulting in headaches which can be very frequent for someone with poor posture.
Your body language is closely related to posture. A slumped stance can make us appear sad, afraid or disinterested to peers leading to different treatment from others that can bring you down without even realizing it.
In a 2015 article, researchers concluded that when facing a high-stress situation, study participants with good posture maintained a higher self-esteem and mood, while those with poor posture experienced heightened stress and used negative words to describe their experience.
Dealing With Poor Posture? We Can Help
You can better your posture naturally through chiropractic care, exercise, stretches and avoiding a sedentary lifestyle. Ask us for more tips on your next visit.

I work at giving people the opportunity to reach correction and wellness, so they not only feel better, they function better. Corrective chiropractic care helps get the spine back to normal much like an orthodontist helps straighten your teeth. We work toward giving our patients their lives back so they can enjoy doing the things they love to do with the family, friends and people they love.

Our best practice members are people who are eager to learn how their body works, want to make the changes necessary to attain and maintain health and want to be and stay well for themselves and their families. They understand that bringing their children in for care is the best way to allow them to grow and develop to reach their fullest potential! In addition to using objective diagnostic equipment and delivering quality chiropractic care, we also utilize nutrition in our office. We carry the best, mostly organic whole food supplements available. We offer classes on diet and health management. Our 21-day cleanse is extremely effective at getting people on the right path to a healthy diet. Personally, I love to stay active. I enjoy tennis, golf, racquetball, basketball, sailing, wakeboarding, water skiing, snowboarding and generally love life. One of my favorite things is to speak to groups. As a result, I am a frequent guest speaker to many groups, clubs and organizations.
