Funny. I decided that I'd like to start making talisman necklaces and Pouches again and looked for a little inspiration. One of the first to come up was this, a talisman pouch necklace I made about 8 or 10 years ago. Hagstone (or faery stone) with inlaid peridot, and vintage glass and bone beads. That's a good reminder that sometimes the best inspiration comes from within.

The tallest tree in Wales got damaged by a storm and was supposed to be cut down, instead chainsaw artist Simon O'Rourke found a better solution to symbolize the tree’s last attempt to reach the sky.

A longtime friend of mine asked me the other day "how is it that you always make your dreams come true?" She meant in reference to me deciding I wanted to move the middle of nowhere and start farm and homestead. I told her I didn't look at it as a dream, I looked at it like a plan. The world secretly tries to make us believe that most dreams are unattainable and my mission was to obtain a farm. When I tweaked my mindset and made it my plan, it happened. She said I should tell everyone that which I thought was both hysterical and cute.

If you're having a hard time obtaining your dreams, make them your plans instead.

Art has been a difficulty since moving here due to lack of space and having 5 cottages to tear down and rebuild. I currently have about a 2.5 x 3.5 foot square to work with so book making is tough and assemblage is out of the question, especially during the cold and rainy season. Instead I've been focusing on tiny paintings. These are a few of my recent lady paintings (all currently sold/unavailable). They're definitely fun to make, but I super miss working with nature in my art at this time of year.
