Summer is in full swing which means not only are we humans more active, but so are our pets. Please keep these things in mind with your furry friend:
🐕 Dogs handle heat differently than we do. While we may feel cool bc of lightweight clothing (and less of it), your pup has a fur coat which insulates.
🦮 Adding "cute" attire can insulate them more.
🐶 Check your pup often to see if they're thirsty. If you carry water for you to an event be sure to do the same for your dog.
🐩 Pavement or asphalt gets quite hot when the sun is beating down on it. You're protected by footwear. Ensure your dog is too.
🐕 If your dog overheats (doesn't stop panting, is a bit lethargic) get them inside where it's cooler and encourage them to drink water.
The best way to cool down is to be in a cool space and be hydrated.
