I never thought lifting 25 lbs on an incline chest would feel this good.
I’m six weeks post surgery.
Today, I’m about 55% recovered and 4 weeks ahead of schedule.
And yeah…it’s been tough!
Frustration hit hard.
I wanted to be further along.
Patience wasn’t my friend.
But here’s what most people miss:
After major setbacks: surgery, stress, burnout….you’re not starting over.
You’re rebuilding.
And rebuilding done right makes you stronger.
Here’s my playbook:
* Fuel recovery with enough calories and macros….no dieting
* Eat foods that actually serve my body
* Rest strategically…recovery isn’t lazy
* Hydrate for cellular repair
* Lymphatic drainage massage to cut inflammation
* Scar stripping…healing with intention, not passively
* And the biggest one: I listen.
Your body tells you what it needs…if you slow down enough to hear it.
Life ebbs and flows.
Strength ebbs and flows.
Energy ebbs and flows.
Move with it. Don’t fight it.
Because sometimes lifting 25 lbs with intention; beats throwing 100 with ego.
Big things happen when you respect the season you’re in!!
