Christi Lundberg, PT and and Michael Bleffert, PT opened EOSPT in July of 2000. They wanted to open a more specialized physical therapy clinic to emphasize their unique training and experience. Christi and Michael specialize in “Orthopedic Manual Therapy.” This is a method of treatment that emphasizes a true “hands-on” approach which focuses on evaluation and assessment as much as treatment. This gives them the ability to assess the cause of the injury, and then apply the most appropriate and effective treatment. But where were they before they came to Idaho? They moved here from the San Francisco area, where they had been working for 3 years at a large outpatient clinic. They spent many vacations in the Teton/Yellowstone area, and eventually moved to Idaho in July of 1998, to be closer to both sets of parents who had relocated to Idaho Falls and Jackson, WY. Originally, Michael was born in Staten Island, New York, and raised in New Jersey, and Christi was born and raised in Los Alamos, New Mexico. Funny they should eventually have parents that live within 100 miles of each other. Christi and Michael first met at the University of California- Davis while on the mens’ and women’s Crew (rowing) team. They both earned degrees in Exercise Physiology at UC -Davis before heading off to graduate school on different sides of the United States. Christi attended Duke University in North Carolina for her Master’s degree in Physical Therapy (PT). She enjoyed a well-rounded PT education along with season tickets to the Duke Men’s Basketball games (Go Duke!). Michael earned his Master’s degree in PT from Mount St. Mary’s College in Los Angeles, CA. He was one of 10 men admitted to the first graduate program at the all women undergraduate college (Go women warriors!). In 1995 they moved to Sacramento, CA, to attend a year-long course in Orthopedic Manual Therapy (OMT) at Folsom Physical Therapy Clinic (see link). The clinic and its instructors were dedicated to the practice of OMT, specializing in the treatment of the spine, as well as all other joints. They learned as much as they could and are better physical therapists for that year of hard study and training. Christi and Michael are grateful for the opportunities they’ve had to advance their Physical Therapy training in the past, and continue to attend courses and read to stay up on the latest techniques. They look forward to continuing to share their expertise and skills with everyone in Teton Valley!

Shred the Trails, Not Your Body! 🚵‍♂️
Summer in Teton Valley means more time on the bike and in the mountains — and we love that! But with all that action comes wear and tear on your body. Whether it’s knee pain, low back tension, or shoulder strain from long descents, we’re here to help you ride strong all season long.

Here are a few quick tips to stay injury-free:
✅ Warm up before you ride hard and stretch after
✅ Don’t skip mobility work & core strength
✅ Rest days are your secret weapon
✅ Listen to your body — early signs matter
⚠️ Fatigue = reduced focus. You’re not riding at your best when you're worn out — that’s when mistakes (and injuries) happen.

Already feeling the strain? Let’s get ahead of it. Our team can help you recover, prevent future injury, and keep doing what you love.

🤲✨ Let’s talk Manual Therapy.
More than just “hands-on” care — manual therapy is a skilled, targeted approach used by physical therapists to reduce pain, improve mobility, and speed up recovery.

Through techniques like joint mobilization, soft tissue release, and myofascial work, manual therapy helps:
✔️ Decrease muscle tension
✔️ Improve circulation and tissue healing
✔️ Restore proper joint and muscle movement
✔️ Prepare your body for more effective exercise

It’s not just about making things feel better — it’s about creating the right environment in your body to move better and heal faster.
Manual therapy isn’t one-size-fits-all. It’s tailored to your condition, your body, and your recovery goals.

🗣️ Have you experienced manual therapy?

🧠💡 Did you know?
Pilates reformers aren’t just for fitness — they’re powerful tools in physical therapy rehabilitation.

The reformer provides controlled resistance through a system of springs and pulleys, allowing patients to perform precise, low-impact movements that strengthen muscles, improve joint stability, and enhance flexibility — all while protecting healing tissues.

We use reformers as part of our physical therapy to:
✔️ Retrain neuromuscular patterns
✔️ Improve core strength and postural alignment
✔️ Support safe movement after injury or surgery
✔️ Gradually increase load without overstressing joints

Whether you're recovering from injury, surgery, or managing chronic pain, incorporating Pilates reformer exercises into your rehab program can accelerate progress and improve long-term outcomes.

👇 Tried the reformer in your PT sessions?
We’d love to hear from you! Drop your experience in the comments or DM us — your story could inspire someone else’s recovery.

We’re Here to Help 💪🌱Love gardening but hate the back pain that follows? Try these 3 simple tips to protect your body and enjoy the season pain-free:

1️⃣ Lift with your legs, not your back 🏋️‍♀️
Squat down and keep items close to your body. Avoid bending at the waist.
2️⃣ Elevate your workspace 🌿
Raised beds or potting tables reduce how much you need to bend over. If you're have to work at ground level, instead of bending over, being on your hands and knees with a gardening pad, is your best option.
3️⃣ Take frequent breaks ⏸️🧘
Stand up, stretch, and switch tasks every 20–30 minutes to prevent stiffness and strain.

If gardening has left you feeling more sore than satisfied, we’re here to help. Physical therapy can improve your posture, correct poor movement habits, and keep you doing what you love—without the pain. 🌷
