Phone Scams

I was visiting one of my friends the other day when his cell phone rang. He said he didn’t recognize the phone number and answered it.

The person on the other end said he was calling because my friend, who is a 83 year old man, has three open Amazon cards and all of them have credit on them. The caller wanted to know how he could send my friend the credits worth $1,2000 in value.

My friend looked confused and said he has never shopped at Amazon nor does he even know what Amazon is.

The phone scammer was trying to get his address, DOB, and asked for a credit card so he could transfer his Amazon credits to his own credit card.

Please be aware of people trying to scam the elderly.
