Please join us tomorrow at 7:30, 9, or 10:30am to Honor Police Officer Arthur “Artie” Lopez, 29, of Babylon Village, New York, who was killed in the line of duty on Oct. 23, 2012. Officer Lopez, a decorated eight-year veteran of the force, was serving on the Emergency Services Unit at the Nassau County Police Department at the time of his death. He kept himself in peak physical condition for the job as a member of CrossFit Merrick in Bellmore, New York. Fran and Cindy were among his favorite workouts.

He is survived by his sister, Charo; and parents, Alfonso and Mirella.

Please join us tomorrow at 7:30, 9, or 10:30am to Honor McCoy “Topsy” Turner, a loved member of the CrossFit community and former Seminar Staff trainer, who committed su***de on March 8, 2025, after suffering from complex post-traumatic stress. Turner served for 17 years in the Royal Navy, specializing as an exercise rehabilitation instructor. He was part of Operation Herrick
when he served in Afghanistan before relocating to Bali and continuing his work in CrossFit education. Turner worked more than
250 Level 1 and Level 2 Seminars.
Turner was known for his warmth and kindness, and touched countless lives who attended CrossFit courses. He is survived by his sons Brodie and Tommy.

He is survived by his wife, First Sergeant Jennifer Loredo; his daughter, Laura Isabelle; his stepdaughter, Alexis; and his son, Eduardo Enrique.

He is survived by his wife Mila; children Mike Jr., Jacob, and Johanna; mother Dolores; and sister Doreen Scioneaux.

Classes will be at 6, 7:30, 9, and 10:30am (90 minute classes).

We will be Honoring Navy Lieutenant Michael Murphy, 29, of Patchogue, N.Y., who was killed in Afghanistan June 28th, 2005.
This workout was one of Mike’s favorites and he named it “Body Armor.” It is now referred to as “Murph” in honor of the focused warrior and great American who wanted nothing more in life than to serve this great country and the beautiful people who make it what it is.

Keith “Matt” Maupin, 24, of Batavia, Ohio, who disappeared on April 9, 2004, when insurgents south of Baghdad attacked his convoy with small-arms fire and rocket-propelled grenades. His remains were found on March 20, 2008. Prior to his disappearance, Maupin served as part of the 724th Transportation Company in Bartonville, Illinois.

He is survived by his mother, Carolyn; father, Keith; a brother and sister; and many other friends and family members.
