Due to the safety of our patients and staff, Lewis Family Medicine will be closed on Tuesday and Wednesday to IN PERSON VISITS, but telemedicine appointments remain scheduled.

Urgent Care is by Telemedicine only.

We urge everyone to stay off the roads, unless necessary, and enjoy the time with your loved ones.

What a week! Hoping everyone stays warm this weekend and celebrates safely with loved ones. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Our Dripping Springs Family Medicine office will be closed next week, but our Urgent Care will be open. We do plan on having extra staff on hand next week in the urgent care. Family medicine will be back in the office on Monday January 2nd! Please use our online patient portal to send any requests or schedule appointments.

Lewis Urgent Care will be closed on Sunday October 9th, 2022. We apologize for the inconvenience, but we had an unforeseen staffing shortage. We hope everyone has a great time celebrating this holiday weekend. We will be open 8am to 8pm on Monday.

Our Story

Dr. Kevin Lewis

Dr. Lewis is a third generation family physician and was born and raised here in Austin.

He attended the University of North Texas and graduated cm laude with a major in biology/minor in chemistry. He then graduated with a medical degree at the University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth. Dr. Lewis completed his family medicine residency at The University of Texas Southwestern Family Medicine Residency Program/Seton Family of Hospitals in Austin.

Dr. Mike McElveen

Mike McElveen is a native Texan and graduated cm laude from Rice University.

He attended Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, graduated in three years, and did an internship at Breckenridge Hospital in Austin. He began full-time Emergency Medicine at Breckenridge Hospital at a time when it was the only Emergency Department for the 11 Central Texas counties. He remained an ER doctor for 38 years. In January of 2017, Dr. McElveen decided to reduce his increasingly onerous work commute to only two miles and joined the staff at Lewis Family Medicine & Urgent Care.

At Lewis Family Medicine & Urgent Care, you will find DR. McElveen caring for our Urgent Care walk-ins several days out of the week. When Dr. McElveen is not in the office, he is spending time with his family, cycling, tending to his many chickens and bee hives, or maintaining his large garden with his loving wife, Kathy in the Texas Hill Country.

Kerry Ramon received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Texas A&M University Corpus Christi in 2009.

During her career as a registered nurse, she worked at Christus Spohn Shoreline and South Texas Surgical Hospital caring for a variety of medical and surgical patients and their families.

Kerry is certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She earned her Masters of Science in Nursing from Texas A&M University Corpus Christi in 2014. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing and the Austin Advanced Practice Nurses Association.

Kerry transitioned to Lewis Family Medicine and Urgent Care in February of 2017 in order to work and care for those in the Dripping Springs community. In her spare time, Kerry can be found reading a good book, baking, crafting, or spending time outdoors with her husband and daughter.
