I always made you a priority.
In my day.
In my heart.
In my life.
No matter what you needed, I showed up.
No matter what you asked, I found a way.
Because that’s who I am when I love someone.
I give.
I care.
I step forward without hesitation.
But the few times I needed you, suddenly there were excuses.
You were too busy.
Too overwhelmed.
Too caught up in your own world to notice mine was falling apart.
And somehow, you made me feel guilty for needing anything at all.
Like I was asking too much.
Like wanting your time, your effort or your presence was some burden I should apologize for.
Little by little, I felt myself slipping further down your list.
Until one day, I finally asked myself the question I had been avoiding.
Why was I giving so much to someone who only cared about what I could do for them?
That was the moment everything changed.
Because if I truly valued my worth, I had to stop accepting a place where I was only convenient.
I had to close that chapter.
I had to begin again.
I will never find peace surrounded by people who drain me.
I will never fully believe in myself while holding onto those who make me feel small.
So I’m letting go.
Of the takers.
The users.
The ones who only show up when they need something.
Maybe removing them won’t fix everything.
But it’s a powerful place to start.
Give me the good hearts.
The strong souls.
The beautifully tattered journeys of people who know how to love without taking everything from me.
Those are my people.
The rest?
They can go.
I’m done letting anyone steal my peace, my joy or my light.
I deserve better.
And this time, I’m choosing exactly that.
I’m not holding out for a hero.
I finally realized the hero of this story was always me.
So I’m turning the page.
And this next chapter?
It’s called New Beginnings.

You keep telling yourself you’re just overthinking it. That you’re reading too much into things, being too sensitive, making something out of nothing.

But there’s a difference between spiraling and noticing. And a lot of the time, what you’re calling “overthinking” is actually you paying attention in a way you didn’t before. It’s you catching the patterns, the inconsistencies, the way something feels even when it looks fine on the surface.

You don’t have to immediately act on it. But you also don’t have to keep talking yourself out of what you’re starting to see.
