While this video is quite humorous it does speak to a major problem! Bad backs!
The human spine is a remarkable structure of engineering with hundreds of joints, muscles, discs, and connective tissues. It’s remarkably strong so why do so many people have problems from doing seemingly mundane things like sneezing or picking a piece of paper off the floor?
1.) While you may have a prior back injury, most back issues arise from ongoing stress and strain over periods of time.
2.) Doing too much movement or loading of the spine with activities your body may not be conditioned to do is another reason.
3.) Likewise not doing enough to condition and create a strong spine is one of the most common reasons for back pain.
“But Doc, I’m very active so why does my back hurt?”
Because you likely aren’t training your spine to be healthy and resilient with proper strengthening, eating an anti-inflammatory diet, and you’re probably skimping on your sleep.
Also, mental/emotional stress is a key predictor of low back pain. Ultimately it is a collection of these lifestyle factors that can lead to pain.
If you’re having a back problem, it’s not getting better, and you’ve tried other offices with little success, we invite you to try something different.
