Andy, a pharmacy supervisor, shares how his personal connection to cancer inspired his career path and commitment to patient care. Overseeing a specialty pharmacy program, Andy ensures patients receive their medications safely and on time — working closely with providers to support positive outcomes.

One of his most meaningful experiences was helping a patient who couldn’t afford their co-pay due to a high deductible. “When I heard that their family was extremely appreciative … it made me realize the impact I had on patient care,” Andy recounts.

Three years ago, a transformative chapter in cancer care began in Orange County with the opening of City of Hope Orange County Lennar Foundation Cancer Center. This milestone brought world-renowned expertise, pioneering research and compassionate care to the heart of the community.

Later this year, another chapter will be written. City of Hope will open Orange County’s only specialty hospital exclusively focused on treating and curing cancer on its academic cancer campus in Irvine. The hospital completes the continuum of advanced cancer care — bringing more cancer-focused expertise, more clinical trials and more groundbreaking treatments to the people of Orange County and beyond.
