Full Circle Moment: From Student to Founder to Leader
Our Founder & CEO Deka D**e returned to her alma mater, Cal State East Bay, as the Keynote Speaker for the Women in Leadership CSUEB 2025 Program Launch.
Standing where her journey began, Deka shared her story, from being a determined student with big dreams to becoming the Founder & CEO of Omatochi, one of the Bay Area’s most impactful senior care organizations. She spoke candidly about the challenges, resilience, and courage it took to build a mission-driven company that blends compassion with technology to help seniors age with dignity, connection, and joy.
Her session, “Connecting the Dots: From Student to Founder to Leader,” was more than a keynote, it was a heartfelt exchange. Deka connected deeply with students, reminding them that leadership isn’t defined by titles, but by purpose, empathy, and impact.
“You already have everything you need to lead, the courage to begin is the first dot to connect.”
We are deeply grateful to Asha Rao and Rupal Shah Hollenbeck for inviting Omatochi to share our story and for their leadership in nurturing the next generation of women changemakers. We also appreciate President Cathy Sandeen for her continued support and vision in empowering women through this incredible program.
This was a true full-circle moment, one that celebrated growth, gratitude, and the power of representation. Here’s to inspiring more women to dream big, lead boldly, and lift others along the way.
Thank you, California State University - East Bay, for welcoming us home and continuing to empower future leaders.
