Hoarse voice? Ongoing ear pain? Symptoms like these that last more than two weeks shouldn’t be ignored and could be early signs of head and neck cancer.

Head and neck cancers can affect the mouth, throat, sinuses, and voice box.

Early detection matters, and there are lifestyle changes you can make to help reduce your risk, including:

• Quit smoking – To***co use is the leading cause of head and neck cancers
• Limit alcohol – Heavy drinking, especially combined with smoking, greatly increases risk
• Protect your skin – Skip tanning beds and use sunscreen to reduce skin cancer risk on your face and neck
• Eat a healthy diet – Focus on fruits and vegetables
• See your dentist regularly – Routine exams can help detect early signs of oral cancer
• Talk to your doctor about the HPV vaccine – HPV is a major cause of throat cancer, and vaccination can help prevent it

If something doesn’t feel right, don’t wait, get it checked!

🌸 Blooms of Gratitude 🌸

Our Castro Valley team received the sweetest gift from a thoughtful patient—crochet flowers, each with a heartfelt message. Together, they’ve blossomed into a beautiful garden, reminding us how a little appreciation can brighten someone’s day and the meaningful impact of the work we do.

Knowing when to get screened—and how recommendations change with age—can help you make informed decisions.
