As kids gear up with new supplies, it's important to remember that backpack ergonomics play a huge role in their health and posture.
Heavy, poorly fitted backpacks can lead to shoulder pain, back strain, and even long-term posture problems. The good news? A few little tips can make a big difference:
- choose a backpack with wide, padded straps
- ensure it sits no lower than the waist
- encourage kids to carry no more than 10-15% of their body weight.
