Notice of Intent to Fill the Vacancy
of the Dubuque County Recorder
by Appointment
The Dubuque County Supervisors are taking applications to fill the vacant office of the Dubuque County Recorder.
Persons interested in the appointment should submit a letter of interest and resume to keith.lucy@dubuquecountyiowa.gov, not later than 4:30 pm on Friday, August 1, 2025. Please note that the email subject line must include “Recorder Application”.
Residency in Dubuque County for at least 60-days is required at the time of the appointment, and throughout the length of the term.
The Board of Supervisors will conduct interviews of selected applicants on Friday, August 8th in a closed session starting at 1:00 pm.
The appointment made by the Supervisors will be held on Monday, August 11, 2025 at 9:00 am.

Sailing into the weekend with so many memories created at day camp this week! All of our Sunrise residents and some of our NF residents were able to enjoy a wondeful day of fishing, crafting, fresh air, good eats and friendship out at Heritage Pond. Thanks to Dubuque County Conservation for they wonderful handicap-accessible dock, pavillion and beautiful grounds. We had a blast! We caught a record number of turtles this year! Don't worry-we didn't touch the snapping variety!

If you see caution tape at our front entrance - don't worry! While we are used to all sorts of wildlife visiting us (turkeys, deer, bears, the occasional peacock, racoons, a bearded dragon that one time...) this time we are hosting a duck mama and her eggs, and trying to keep them safe and comfortable. Please watch your speed when visiting as always, and stay tuned for more updates!

Happy National Nursing Home week to all! We think we have a pretty awesome one here at Sunnycrest! We've been enjoying fun events all week, and more to come tomorrow! Adobo's will be here 11am-1pm so stop up if you'd like to purchase a yummy lunch! Today we indulged in TWO bands and a food show put on by our food purveyor, Martin Brothers!

In January and March, we held Casino Days. We thank The New Eagle Group for volunteering to help in January, and Clarke University Social Work Club for volunteering to help in March! In March, we added a human slot machine which brought a lot of fun and excitement. Thank you to Sunnycrest Manor Auxiliary for providing the prizes as well as a couple volunteers! Check out the photos and video clips to get an idea of the fun that was had.

Come check out our Silent Auction! It will be set up on 1st Floor M-W @ 9a-4p, and then at Burger Night at Asbury Eagles Club on Thursday night! One item that is pictured here, but will not be at Burger Night (there will not be room for it) is a refurbished Hawkeye pub table. The tabletop measures 40 in. x 40 with a table height of 37 inches. It comes with 4 chairs for the tables. The bid is at $80 right now. Stop up to check it out and make some bids!

Sunnycrest resident, Ryan, has been impressing us with his vocal talents! In November, he held a concert highlighting Broadway songs. In February, he held a concert showcasing pops music. We are proud of you, Ryan!

Thank you to The McDonough Foundation for granting us $2,500 towards an accessible courtyard patio. It is so nice to have level ground for all to be able to access this patio without strain! (Prior to this concrete being laid, this was a grassy area.) We thank all of our donors and will honor their contributions when our courtyard patio project is complete. We will provide updated photos as well as a plaque that will hang in the area to honor all donors. Right now, a shade structure is on order and some raised planters are being assembled. Thank you to Sunnycrest Manor Auxiliary for spearheading this project and securing the funding! We look forward to gardening, campfires and more in our courtyard!
