This page is a repository of my thoughts, ideas opinions and professional perspective. Jim Romagna has over twenty-five years of experience in the fitness/wellness/strength and conditioning field. As a former multi-sport athlete he started personal training in 1994. While Jim and his wife Jennifer developed their training business, he also served as the Head Strength Coach for all sports at Loras College for nearly seven years, while also serving five years on the football coaching staff, and three years as an adjunct faculty member. Since 2007, Jim has been teaching as a full time instructor at the University of Dubuque in the Health, Wellness and Sport Department, and in 2012, he was named the Department Head. In 2010, Jim was appointed the Strength Coach for the Dubuque Fighting Saints hockey team (USHL) who won the USHL Championship, Clark Cup in their inaugural season (2010-11) and again in 2012-13. In 2016 Jim partnered with Jason Meyer of Dubuque Physical Therapy to launch MERGE Performance Institute, MPI is built on four pillars: fitness, performance, sports medicine and education. Jim holds a doctorate in educational leadership from National Louis University, and a master's degree in physical education from Loras College. In addition, he is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and a Certified Personal Trainer through the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
